Bram Burggraaf

Hello, I’m Bram Burggraaf. On November 1, 2023, I started at VDL Konings as a Business Analyst. My focus is on the processes and the data they generate. I make this data accessible to the various departments in an easy-to-understand way. This allows my colleagues to better steer based on data and the insights they gain from it.

How did you end up at VDL Konings?
I came across a vacancy at VDL Konings for a Business Analyst by chance. This appealed to me enormously and matched well with my experience. After two conversations and an impressive tour of this interesting and versatile company, there was a match. The manufacturing industry was new to me, but I saw this as a challenge to apply my knowledge in the field of Business Intelligence.

What do you like about working at VDL Konings?
Like many of my colleagues, I come from the area. There is an informal atmosphere and there is a lot of collaboration. I think it’s great to see that actual products are being manufactured here. Not only in series, but new products are also being developed that are used in various industries. Together with colleagues from many different fields, you take the company a step further. It is a nice mix of working independently on projects, planning consultations, and colleagues who spontaneously drop by to ask something or consult.

What makes your work interesting and what are your biggest challenges?
The fact that I am involved in almost all aspects of the company makes it complex on the one hand. You need to know and understand a lot of things. Fortunately, I do this together with colleagues who master the processes. By asking good questions and working together, I can find the right data to create reports that add value to my colleagues’ work. Getting to know the entire company makes it interesting and is also the biggest challenge. This also provides a nice variety.

How is VDL Konings as an employer and what do you like about working at VDL Konings?
I see VDL Konings as an excellent employer. Matters concerning personnel are very well arranged. Not only a good pension, many vacation days, and clear agreements, but social occasions are also considered important. You are really involved in the company. Parties or outings are regularly organized, and they are done on a grand scale.

What does an average working day look like for you?
Every day looks different. Sometimes I work from home, but usually at the office. I start around 7:15 and then I’m home early. The workday is usually a nice mix of working independently on assignments and having conversations with colleagues. During the conversations, the wishes and possibilities are discussed and previous results are presented.
